This was my second portrait- it is of Emma Stone. She is one of my favorite actrices, mostly from comedies but more recently from the movie The Help. Not one of my favorite pieces but i enjoyed using a more loose method of drawing her.
For our assignment of making a block print- I chose to carve an octopus. This is not the print of it, it is the linoleum block that is carved- the printed image would be the opposite of how the octopus is facing now. Drawing octopus's has been one of the more focused animals I have been drawing this year- not sure why but I just find a lot inspiration from them.

This is my house design for my perspective project. I used 2 point perspective for this project, and it was something different to work with. Next time I will probably will make my vanishing points going beyond the paper. I only used a mechanical pencil for the detailing and sketching for the entire piece. Since this was around Halloween, I was inspired by the spookiness of the month.

This is what I drew for a skateboard project. The project was for a gallery that was trying to raise money for a skate park. I used a variety of markers to draw this skateboard deck. I used a drying out marker to create the feathery look for the majority of the feather and I really like how it turned out. I think this piece has an overall balanced feel to it, with the large part of the feather weighted down in the top potion of the skateboard with clouds and swirls balancing it on the bottom. The theme is mostly asymmetrical.

One of my sketches, inspired by feathers and profiles. I used a range of graphite pencils in my sketchbook. I used a blending tool so soften the edges and give the hair more texture to look more realistic.
